Nine Great Things God Has For Us

Nine Great Things God Has For Us

The Scriptures overflow with the boundless generosity and immeasurable love of our God. Today, let us meditate on nine great things God has prepared for those who put their trust in Him.

1. A Great God (2 Chronicles 2:5, Psalm 86:10):

"And the house which I build is great: for great is our God above all gods," and "For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone." We serve a God whose majesty surpasses all understanding, whose power transcends all creation. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. His greatness fills the heavens and the earth. Let us stand in awe of His infinite glory.

2. A Great Love (1 John 4:8, 16, Romans 5:8):

"God is love," and "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." God's love is not a fleeting emotion but a steadfast, unwavering commitment to His creation. It is a love that sent His Son to die for our sins, a love that welcomes us into His embrace. Let us bask in the warmth of His unending affection.

3. Great Company (1 John 2:2, John 3:17):

"And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world," and "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." We are not alone in this journey of faith. We are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, joined together in the body of Christ. We have fellowship with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We have the company of fellow believers who share our hope and our joy.

4. A Great Gift (2 Corinthians 9:15):

"Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." God's gift of salvation is beyond measure, an undeserved act of grace that transforms our lives. It is the gift of forgiveness, the gift of eternal life, the gift of His presence. Let us receive this gift with gratitude and humility.

5. A Great Savior (Matthew 1:21, Acts 4:12):

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins," and "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Jesus Christ, our Savior, is the embodiment of God's love and grace. He is the bridge between humanity and divinity, the one who redeems us from sin and death. Let us place our complete trust in His saving power.

6. A Great Invitation:

"Whoever Believes" (Revelation 22:17): "And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely." God's invitation is open to all. Regardless of our past, our present circumstances, or our doubts, He welcomes us with open arms. "Whoever believes" is a promise of inclusion, a testament to His boundless grace.

7. A Great Assurance: "May He Perish" (Romans 10:9, 10):

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." We have the assurance of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. This is not a fleeting hope but a firm foundation upon which we can build our lives.

8. A Great Deliverance: "May He Perish"

(John 14:6): "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." Jesus is our deliverer, our rescuer from the power of sin and death. He is the only way to the Father, the path to eternal life. Let us walk in His light and follow His guidance.

9. A Great Reward: Eternal Life (Psalm 23:6, John 5:24):

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever," and "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." Our ultimate reward is eternal life with God, a life of unending joy and communion with our Creator. Let us fix our eyes on this glorious hope, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.
