Young People, Allow God to Organize and Direct Your Day and Your Life (Romans 6:13; 12:1)

In a world that constantly bombards you with choices, demands your attention, and offers countless paths, it can be overwhelming to know how to navigate your day, let alone your entire life. The temptation is to grab the reins ourselves, to plan every detail, or to simply drift along with the currents of culture. But God, in His infinite wisdom and love, offers a better way. Today, we're going to explore what it means to truly allow God to organize and direct your day and your life, drawing inspiration from Romans 6:13 and 12:1.

1. Surrendering to God is a Daily Act of Decision and Devotion (Romans 12:1)

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship."

This verse calls us to a radical act of devotion: offering our entire lives, our very bodies, as a living sacrifice to God. This isn't a one-time event; it's a daily act of decision and surrender. Each morning, each decision point, must begin with this conscious surrender of your will, your plans, and your desires to God's loving hands. It's a rational and spiritual response to His immense mercy and love for us.

2. God Wants to Use Your Life as an Instrument of Righteousness (Romans 6:13)

"Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer all your parts to him as instruments of righteousness."

Here, the call is clear: instead of allowing sin to dominate your choices and actions, God desires to use your life, your energy, your talents, and your passions as instruments of righteousness. This means directing your gifts, your time, and your very being to serve God's will. When you yield yourself to Him, He transforms you from an instrument of wickedness into a vessel for His divine purposes, impacting the world for good.

3. God Wants to Direct Even the Small Choices of Your Day (Proverbs 3:6)

"in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Allowing God to organize your day isn't just about the big life decisions. It begins with seeking Him in prayer for even the small, seemingly insignificant choices. It's trusting His direction in your schedule, your priorities, your conversations, and your interactions. When you acknowledge Him in "all your ways," you give Him permission to make your paths straight, leading you with precision and purpose throughout your day.

4. God's Will is Good, Perfect, and Acceptable (Romans 12:2b)

"Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

For some, the thought of surrendering control to God might feel like a loss of freedom or joy. However, Romans 12:2 assures us the opposite: God's will is good, pleasing, and perfect. Surrendering control to Him does not lead to deprivation but to profound security in His higher plan. His ways are always better than ours, leading to greater fulfillment, peace, and ultimate blessing. You can trust that His direction is always for your highest good.

5. Living for God Requires Saying "No" to Some Ways (Romans 12:2a)

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

Allowing God to direct your life inherently means choosing a path that often runs against the grain of the world's system. The world seeks to mold you into its pattern, but God calls you to be transformed, to live differently. This requires courage and firmness to say "no" to popular trends, ungodly values, and detrimental influences that contradict God's Word. A God-directed life is a distinctive life.

6. Organizing Your Life with God is Living in Holiness (Joshua 3:5)

"Joshua told the people, 'Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.'"

When Joshua commanded the Israelites to consecrate themselves, it meant setting themselves apart for God, to be holy. Similarly, organizing your life with God means living in holiness. A clean life before God, free from known sin and dedicated to His purposes, paves the way for divine blessings and clear guidance. It creates an environment where God can do amazing things among you and through you.

7. God-Led Youth Influence Their Generation (1 Corinthians 11:1)

"Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ."

When a young person truly allows God to organize and direct their day and their life, they become a powerful example. Their choices, their character, their priorities, and their peace become an inspiration to others. They become a living testimony of God's transforming power, influencing their generation not through human wisdom or worldly charm, but through a life that visibly follows Christ.

  1. Young Man, Grow Up to Become Mature Ephesians 4:12-13
  2. Young! Get Involved and Do the Lord's Work Mark 16:15
  3. Young People Who Accept Counsel and Discipline Are Wise Proverbs 19:20

Conclusion:

Beloved young people, the call to allow God to organize and direct your day and your life is a profound invitation to experience true purpose, peace, and power. It's a daily act of surrender, a commitment to be an instrument of righteousness, a willingness to seek His guidance in every detail, and a trust in His good, perfect, and pleasing will.

This path will require you to live against the world's current and to pursue holiness, but the result will be a life that not only honors God but also powerfully influences your generation.

Will you, today, consciously choose to surrender your day and your life to God's loving organization and direction? Amen.
