 Sermon about Debts: Sell the olive oil and pay your debts


hen she told the man of God what had happened, he said to her, “Now sell the olive oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on what is left over.” 2 Kings 4:7

1. Go to God for help in her grief 


1One day the widow of a member of the group of prophets came to Elisha and cried out, “My husband who served you is dead, and you know how he feared the Lord. But now a creditor has come, threatening to take my two sons as slaves.”

Debt is a major source of conflict in many people's lives. Everyone has some form of debt, and it is unavoidable at some point. Debt is a financial obligation . It can be a loan or a credit card balance. Whatever form it takes, debt is an obligation you have to pay back. 

When you have no debt, the money you have is yours to do with as you please. Having debt is a personal situation,. Having debt can apparence helpful when you use it to acquire a better car, improve your home, or start a business. 

However, you should pay off your debts as quickly as possible to avoid serious problems

The widow went to Elisha for help in her grief (1). Her husband has just passed away (1a). Her children were to be sold as slaves to pay off for her husband’s debts (1b).

2. Try to see and obey what God tells you to do

The widow trusted Elisha and obeyed his instructions (2-5).  .Elisha found a solution from the little oil that she has at home (2). Elisha encouraged her to borrow as many empty jars as possible (3). Elisha instructed her to empty the oil in all the jars privately (4-5).

Pay off debts can also be difficult. You will have to make some difficult decisions when you have debts. For example, you may have to choose between paying your debts and buying things. Paying debts can be difficult because you will have to make some difficult choices.

Furthermore, paying debts is not only beyond the means of some peoples but also beyond the morals of everyone should be able to pay their debts and have a high credit rating.

Should we trust God. How does God care for the widow? Faith in God to provide for you when in need (limited only by our own faith)

Paying off debt is beneficial for your credit rating. Having a high credit rating is important for your future financial success. 
 It will also make it easier for you to find a good job, which is important .

The woman  participate in the miracle that was to come, getting her to give and entrust the little that she has to God and allowing him to multiply it.

You Stand up! Faith and accion in your miracle, now!

3. God Bless You.

.Elisha encouraged her to borrow as many empty jars as possible (3) and  instructed her to empty the oil in all the jars privately (4-5).

 The widow was blessed abundantly through the miracle (6-7) because all the borrowed jars were completely filled with oil (6).

There was enough money made from selling the oil to pay off all her debts (7a).
 There was enough money left after paying the debt for her family’s provision (7b).

Will  God Bless You  to Pay off debts can also improve your financial situation. When you have no debts, you have the freedom to focus on Jesus. When you pay off your debts, you can use the money you have freed up to do your family, the church and people needs.
