Sermon About Success With God

Sermon About Success With God 1 Corinthians 9:12-27

1. “Endure All Things” (v. 12)

Jesus, our example (1 Peter 2:21-24; 1 Cor. 11:1)
We are to endure also. Yet, so many fail so easily. Remember Demas (2 Tim. 4:10)
Anyone who wants to succeed must understand that working hard is essential and must also make sacrifices. People who work hard can achieve anything they want in life.

A strong work ethic is necessary to succeed in any field.  Working hard is also necessary when pursuing a dream; it allows you to stay focused and takes the stress off of you. Essentially, working hard leads to success.

2.  be a part of anything more

“It Would Be Better For Me To Die” (1 Corinthians 9:15-17)
Paul’s service began immediately (Acts 26:19; 9:20)
He would rather die than be a part of anything less
He felt a necessity (“woe is me”)
He recognized that his value in service was by preaching to others

People must also make sacrifices to succeed. Many people fail at working towards their goals because they refuse to make sacrifices. many people fail at building self-confidence,  to make sacrifices when seeking out help in achieving their goals, refusing advice or guidance.
“I Have Made Myself A Servant To All” (1 Corinthians 9:19)
Our Lord came to serve (Mt. 20:28)
Paul operated under the words of the Lord (Acts 20:35)
Yet, we gather together and expect to be served!
It is not “what can I give,” it is “what can I get!”

3. “I Have Become All Things To All Men” (1 Corinthians 9:22)

Paul understood the preferences and opinions of others and, out of respect, tried not to violate them (1 Cor. 10:23-33)
Yet, Paul was staying within New Testament limits
It does not mean that he would become a drunkard to save drunkards

Lastly, people should always seek out help when needed to achieve their goals. Often times our goals are too difficult for us to achieve on our own. When this happens, we must seek out help- whether it's from a mentor, coach or advisor or an online community of like-minded individuals.
